Raise Your Glasses
to the champion who took the Dubai World Cup!
There was a moment of silence for Aaron as they cross under the wire. The crowd was drowned out as he soaked in the majesty of the big blood bay beneath him. Did they just win the great DUBAI WORLD CUP? Darn rights they did! He pumped his fist in the air and screamed on the top of his lungs. Knight Rousseau was the horse that brought them there. This was incredible. This was real life. Aaron had never felt anything like this in his entire racing career. It will be a day to remember.
He grinned as they circled around and walked back towards the crowd. He lifted his fist in the air and was rewarded by the roar of the crowd. What could ever beat this moment? The Breeder's Cup Classic and the Kentucky Derby. There was not going to be a Kentucky Derby in the near future but the Breeder's Cup Classic was a possibility. Aaron took a deep breath and turned Rousseau towards the gorgeous winner's circle of the Green Horse Fields Track.
Kirsten raced up from waiting by the rail holding the hands of her nephew and her daughter following close behind. She screamed and ran up the steps into the winner's circle. Brenda raced over with the young year and a half old Jaxson in her arms. Aaron dismounted from the large steed and passed the reins to the beast's handler. He picked up his son from Brenda and threw him up in the air and caught him and put him on his shoulders. He was so pumped. Chantal smiled and shook his hand. "Congratulations Aaron!" Aaron nodded and squeezed his son's hand. Melanie was the last one to make it up on the podium, still in her jockey silks from riding in the last race. She quietly slipped in the back and the ARS crowd posed around the great Night Stalker son. This was a great feat, and they were all very proud of Rousseau. It was off to the Breeder's Cup for him now. One last mountain to climb.
